Home Based Multidisciplinary Therapy Assistants for kids aged 5-12
Welcome to the Galaxy Guides Home-Based Therapy Assistants program! We're thrilled to share information with you about our innovative service. Our primary goal is to invite your support in assisting families to establish home therapy goals and plans, which our Therapy Assistant will then put into action on your behalf.
Our program is crafted to offer families the support of a Therapy Assistant who can carry out an engaging, play-based home therapy program. These sessions happen at least once a week and last for two hours each. Our top priority is to offer top-notch, family-focused, and multidisciplinary support following the best practices in Early Intervention with a focus on intensity and frequency. Moreover, we aim to assist families in keeping up with home therapy activities between your sessions. This can make things easier for therapists who are dealing with a high workload and the complexities of modern clinical practice under the NDIS.
We meticulously craft all home therapy plans by first gathering essential insights from each child's allied health team. This collaborative effort primarily involves identifying the specific developmental goals and skills that you, as the expert, wish us to focus on. We then integrate these invaluable details with innovative resources and captivating, low-risk activities that resonate with each child's unique interests.
These personalised plans are designed to offer a series of low-risk, enjoyable, and immersive home therapy activities that are directly aligned with the developmental goals established by the child's therapists. It's important to emphasise that our intention is not to replace you as the child's current therapist. Rather, we aim to assist you in delivering intervention in a more home-centered and intensive manner, potentially alleviating some of the challenges faced by parents who coordinate home programs involving multiple providers.
Our Advanced Therapy Assistants have substantial experience working with children with Autism in early intervention, education, or disability support roles. All of our therapy assistants are currently pursuing qualifications in relevant child-centered, disability related fields, such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychology, education and nursing.
Each home therapy program is created by our team leaders after collecting relevant info from each client's allied health providers.
The program is reviewed and approved by our senior occupational therapist to ensure its appropriateness and safety.
All Therapy Assistants are under the supervision of our qualified, senior occupational therapist. The Therapy Assistants participate in regular coordination and training sessions with our senior occupational therapist to ensure the safe and effective delivery of the intervention, making necessary adjustments as needed.
Therapy Assistants are fully insured under LaunchPod's Professional Indemnity Insurance. This means you won't be responsible for any injuries or damage that might happen while they're following your program, as long as your recommendations are within your professional scope of practice.
Wondering what's next? Once your client joins our program and gets paired with a Therapy Assistant, we'll send you a link to an online form. This form helps us understand the goals and skills you want our therapy assistant to focus on during the home therapy program. Filling out the form is a breeze, and it usually takes about 10 minutes. Plus, you can bill this time to your client's NDIS plan.
Our home therapy assistant plans follow 10-12 week cycles before we review and make any necessary adjustments. Our friendly LaunchPod team leaders will keep in touch to provide feedback on how things are going. If you have any suggestions or advice, please don't hesitate to reach out.
After those initial 12 weeks, we'll touch base with you to gather updated goals for our LaunchPod team leaders to review and incorporate into the home therapy plan. Your involvement in this process is crucial to ensure a successful home therapy assistant program.
If you wish to make updates to your client's therapy plan before the 10-12 week cycle ends, simply send us an email using the contact details provided below, and we will send you a fresh link to add new goals or additional information. Around the time of your client's regular NDIS review, we encourage providers to conduct a thorough and objective reassessment and report on their progress, with the goal of quantifying the gains made during participation in the Galaxy Guides Therapy Assistants program. This, we hope, will ensure that families can continue to access this valuable, collaborative service.
